International Travel?

Hello, my parents are planning for my 14th birthday present and christmas present to send me to Austria (to one of their close friends) on a ski trip. Would a 14 year old be allowed to travel internationally alone? If it matters this would be in December of 2009, it would be from Charlotte, NC to Munich, Germany.
