Is Amtrak reliable on its arrival time?

I am planning to tour the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, ny and I was thinking of taking the amtrak train fron new york's penn station to the poughkeepsie station and then take a taxi or bus to the school. The arrival time is 8:36 am and my tour is scheduled at 9:30. Does anyone know if I would be able get there on time? I wish I could take an earlier train but that is the earliest amtrak has.
